The SC Department of Education’s Office of Student and Community Engagement is offering a free community-focused training on Mentorship and Literacy Tutoring. Participants experience a John Maxwell i-Lead Transformation Table, hear from two organizations that successfully mentor students in SC, and learn simple literacy tutoring strategies from two SCDE literacy specialists. The event is designed to empower community members with tools they can use in and out of schools to help others learn to read (literacy) and to show community members how they can transform lives through mentoring.
