Edisto Plein Air Paint Out

Description

The Edisto Plein Air Paint Out is a four-day, open enrollment, plein air painting event. It takes place in the beautiful Lowcountry of South Carolina in and around the Town of Edisto Beach and the surrounding area of Edisto Island and the ACE Basin, from Wednesday, October 11 through Saturday, October 14, 2023. The paint out aims to bring painters together from around the world to paint outside in the fresh air while getting to know each other and sharing their work.

After four days of painting "en plein air," painters are invited to display their completed works at the Wet Paint Show & Sale on Saturday, October 14th. Collectors, art guild members and the public are invited to attend this impressive display of Plein Air paintings to both view and purchase the unique works that highlight the incredible beauty of the Lowcountry.

ARTIST AWARD SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

In 2020, the Edisto Art Guild developed the Edisto Plein Air Paint Out and since then we have seen the event gain artist and community support.  Edisto has much to offer artists and it is an asset to our community to be able to offer this open event.  This takes sponsors, award sponsors, friends and sales.

EVENT SCHEDULE

Wednesday, October 11:
Ø Artist check-in from 10:00-12:00 PM (Edisto Civic Center)
Ø Artist/Sponsor Social 5:00-7:00 pm (late check-in available at this time)
Ø Artists continue painting through until Saturday turn in.
Saturday, October 14:
Ø 10:00 AM: all work must be turned in with completed paperwork between 10:00 and 11:00 AM at the Civic Center. Art may be turned in earlier by appointment.
Ø 1:00 PM: Judging
Ø 2:00 PM: Awards Announced, Sponsors’ Viewing and Reception
Ø 3:00-5:00 PM: General Public Admitted
Ø 5:00-6:00 PM: Artists collect any unsold paintings

$35 Early bird registration - through May 31, 2023
$45 June 1, 2023 - September 30, 2023
